As we wait for tomorrow's PET scan, twiddling our thumbs, I thought I might waste some of your time by correcting something. The PET scan is actually two scans. One is the scan of the tissues that take up the nuclear isotope, the more active tissues. But there is also a regular CT scan. They are superimposed and the combination is what the doctor reads to determine the extent of any lesions and whether or not there are any new ones.

There is an even chance that there will be new ones and that the original tumor will have shrunk or disappeared altogether. The chemo will have a chance to next work on the new tumors and destroy them as well. Further metastasis will hopefully decrease as the chemo has a chance to do it's work.

And then there's the fish.

We suspect that there will be a preliminary report after the imaging and a more detailed one in a couple of days.
