Shelly also wanted to post a poem she received from her friend Jess in a past comment but deserved more visibility :
So I promised you a poem, one that will rhyme
should I write this one quick, or take my time?
You said ‘don’t plagiarize Suess’, don’t steal his line,
but this isn’t from him, this one is all mine.
So I’ll start with today, I think it went swell,
meeting the Waxman’s- Harv, Judy and El.
With a family as welcoming and kind as this,
how could I not give you a hug and a kiss?
So we laid on your bed sharing cookies and fears
We had some laughs and shed a few tears.
You’ve opened your heart, you’ve opened your soul,
and, yes, these overwhelming emotions do take a toll.
But NEVER GIVE UP, as you promised me today,
fight this illness, make it go away!
Let people care, let them give you a hand
ask for a favor, make a demand.
Drink your Ensure and swallow your fish,
Allow yourself to hope, to savor a wish.
People love you, not just Oliver, your pup
so do as you promised…. AND NEVER GIVE UP!!

Ah, there you are Harvey! I have really become very attached to your postings and have been tying my hands behind my back (quite a trick) so I don't call too often. Hi Shelly!!
And even though I spoke to Debbie yesterday (see last comment from your previous post) I am glad to know that today was another good day, filled with visits that warmed your heart sweet Shelly.
I bet very few people saw the last part of what I wrote yesterday - where I announced that Judy's birthday is this coming Monday! (Sorry Judy.) I am hoping Unk E. will figure out how to organize a collective rendition of Happy Birthday on the blog so we can sing happy birthday to you all together.
Love to everyone, Alice
Dear All...I hope I will be able to respond, as I am at the Barbash's in Fla. So I am trying to send my thoughts on a computer I have never used before and from a new location.First, thanks for sharing that beautiful poem, it certainly says everything we all feel and want for Shelly.Sally had an awful day yesterday. Complaining about severe back pain. The flight down was unpleasant with 4 screaming children for 2 and a half hours, the stewardess said that they all had ear infections, butnever offered to move us...Oh well, I hope Sally wakes feeling better this a.m.. Arnold and Rose are coming her tomorrow. Thursday we will go there and go to dad's grave. I will bring a golf ball and tee to push into the ground, just in case.Judy, Judy wish I was there to give you a big Hug, on your Birthday...Sorry we did not even send a card, but we send our love all the same...Ernie
