The Latest

Spoke with the oncologist this morning. Neurosurgery is not an option at this time. The headaches seem to be lessening in intensity and duration so we stick with the medication route. Eventually the body will take over and eliminate the necrotic tissue itself but in the brain it just takes longer. So we aim for comfort as much as possible while this takes place.

We're on the right track I think.

Best to you all.

Hi Shelly,
I am so sorry you are having such terrible pain! You have had absolutely enough! If one can be glad about such things, I was glad to hear the news that it is necrotic tissue that has to be absorbed and not something else. You are in my thoughts everyday even if you don't hear from me.
Keep on keeping on, as difficult as that must be. You have many many fans!
Love and wishes for the pain to go away ALREADY!

Hi,Shelly..Aunt Sally and I are in Hilton Head, were it has been cloudy and rainy for the past 2 days. Did not mind it yesterday when we are Temple (in a Church) the congregation here is adding on and not done yet. Cousin Stan Bluestone was Pres. last year when they raised 2 million dollars for the expansion..Anyway as I prayed and it was 90% in English, I said Shelly on every page we read to be sure G-d knew he had some work to do for us..so keep at it and the spots will go away I am sure of it. Love unkE and Aunt Sally

Hi Shelly
It's another rainy day in paradise but no complaints. It is a luxury to have some down time to decompress and do nothing. When we get back from this vacation we will bein Christmas hell and then I have to do something with this store. The business climate couldn't be worse and what you hear on T.V. is just an understatement. I'm not complaining, mind you, but it is going to be a very big challenge ahead.

Not unlike you there are a bunch of people out here scratching their heads not sure where to go next.

I was relieved for you when the determination was that you are suffering from inflamation. I do hope that the concensus was accurate and the decadron will give you some relief. Of all the possibilities and all the protocols for treatment this was one of the easiest for you to endure not to mention the least threatening condition or so it seams. It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback but from here on the sidelines we hope this will give you some headache relief and will thus brighten your days.

Love you and want you to know you areever in our thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to Oliver too

Aunt Sally

Hi dear shelly- i thought i'd try this way of hugging you for a change. not as nice as your sweet voice but an earlier morning message.

i'm glad to hear the report from the oncologist and also that the headaches are lessening in pain and duration. that is the best of all the options. less intensity and shorter period of pain seem to follow what he said. let's hope it speeds up. till then, just be gentle and loving to yourself and let oliver keep licking you.

i think of you all the time.

we send love and wishes and will talk soon. barbara
