At Last, Some New Information
I finally got a call from Shelly's oncologist. The radiologists studied the contrast MRI for two days and have concluded that the swelling is not from new tumor but from necrosis, dead tissue from the radiation she had. Definitely better than the alternative.
Her headache pain is now the central focus and we're upping her medications to deal with that but for now the big worry is lifted.
Whatever you're doing, keep it up.

What fantastically good news! I just got home and checked the blog and was delighted beyond anything to read this. That is almost a stupid understatement but I am at a loss for words. (Imagine me being at a loss for words!) Barbara was just boarding her plane from Pitts back to Phila and I called her. She said to tell you that she is celebrating with you. Lots and lots and lots of love, Alice
GREAT NEWS!!!!!
I see a lobster in Shelly's future.
