It's been a bit rough since the last chemo session. Like people I suppose, chemo sessions seem to have individual personalities. This one started the next day with emotional lows and so far hasn't let go. Shelly takes some meds to counteract the symptoms but she's pretty tired most of the time and generally down.
As she knows, this isn't the cancer that's responsible so there isn't the fear that something is wrong. She knows that this feeling will pass and is just something she has to endure a bit longer.
She will. Only one more to go.

Dear dear Shelly, I'm sorry this is a low stretch - not surprising perhaps but certainly difficult to deal with. Your mother tells me that you are trying to avoid sugar but if and when you want a break from your will-power, let me know and as soon as I get back to Montclair, I'll make and send some lemon squares. :) It seemed to work for you in February so maybe it will work at the end of May too! If not, you'll have to settle for the sweet hugs and much love that I am sending you.
Alice
Oh Alice,
You're so sweet! Thank you for all your good thoughts.
It will get better soon and then there will only be one more chemo to get through (hopefully).
Love to all,
Shelly
Dearest Shelly, I was hoping no news was good news, like my lottery tickets, no such luck!!!. So said to hear how low you feel , Hope it will improve quickly..I told you I had Andrew and Lexie over the weekend. Anyway, Andrew would cough and then tell me it was a fake cough, as he knows I'll try to get him to suck on Halls, cough drops, which he does not like. Well by Tues, I felt a cold coming on and I am taking Vitamin C and Zinc lossenges to kill it fast..I guess I should call Andrew and tell him I have a fake cold. I will get them again Sunday overnite, OPur community has a parade we can walk to and a Fair with rides the cost an arm and leg, that I want to take them to. It is supposed to be Sunny and 75 to 80 nice weekend. Love you and am thinking of you...Uncle Ernie
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST THOUGHTFUL, SUPPORTIVE, SWEETEST, FUNNIEST, SENSITIVE UNCLE ON THE PLANET!!!!!!!!
LOVE YOU SO MUCH UNCLE ERNIE,
SHELLY
Dear Shelly, I Got teary when I read your good wishes...I sent a long response at 4:00 this afternoon and now it is not here. Please promise to send me wihes on my B'day for a long time to come.. LOVE YOU Uncle Ern . P.S. I am shortening my name now, because at my age I had better try to save as much time as possible, How about "Unk" E ????
Dear Ernie, Happy Birthday from Montclair NJ. I don't know exactly when your birthday was or how many years of celebrating you have behind you, but here's to enjoying many more. When Marc (my son) was 2 years old (or younger), he used to refer to his uncle Sheldon (known as "Shed") as "Unk Shed" so Unk E is a good name to use!
Love to you and everyone on this sunny Sunday. I hope the sun is shining for you too Shelly and if not, just know that we are all sending sun rays your way. Alice

Pam
