Today's visit at MGH was about 1 1/2 hours long. She met a very nice oncologist who talked about some newer studies should her chemo be less effective than we hope. Shelly's scheduled chemo is absolutely the right one.
We'd have liked better news of the effectiveness of the chemo but we have our secret weapons - family and friends who care and a gal with spirit who is a fighter.
She starts the chemo on Thursday. She's been there before and we all believe she will do as well as she did two years ago.
Thanks to everyone.

Hi Shelly, It's Beth from Auburn. Floyd and Sami are my two cats. Floyd is a 22lb. Maine Coon and Sami is a 7lb. calico. They don't realize that they are cats. They think they are human. SO...they send their love to you and Oliver. I'm sure Oliver comforts you like our cats do for us. I KNOW that Floyd and Sami understand Dave is under the weather and they sit right next to him as if to say....I'll make you feel better. Animals are amazing. Lots of Love, Beth
Oh Beth,
I figured it was you I just forgot about the cats that's all.
My thoughts are with you and Dave and I will be thinking good thoughts and sending them your way.
Thank you so much for writing.
Love,
Shelly
Shelly,
Just wanted to drop a line and say hello and I'm thinking about you and sending prayers your way constantly. I talked with Aunt Judy today, as you might already know, I have a battle going on here right now, but nothing compared to what you are fighting. I know that everything is going to work out just the way it's supposed to here. I also know that from what I saw this weekend, you are so strong, you are a fighter and you're going to be okay no matter what. I love you soooooooooooo much.
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo to you and to oliver.
Love your little cousin,
Jill
Hi Shelly,
Your cousins from California just dropping in to say that were so happy that you had a nice day yesterday and that from what your dad says, you are on the right track with what is being done. Also wanted to share our nice day today, our 57th Wedding Anniversary and Estelle's B-day. Hope your day is an nice as ours.
Love,
Estelle and Sumner
Dear Shelly,
I probably won't get to my bakery again until this weekend but the new order has been placed! I tried calling you this morning but you were asleep. Do you want or like the idea of a good book to read during treatments? Or do you just zone out or what do you do for the long hours you have to get through? I'll suggest a book or two if you are interested. Either way I will be with you in spirit tomorrow. I had hoped to talk to you before so I'll try again but I teach tonight. Sending you lots of love always, Alice
Dearest Shelly, Hope a day without a drs. appointment, was restful. We got a letter today from thw Mayo clinc, actually asking for money. We had gone there when Aunt Sally got so ill.
