It's 6am Sunday morning and quiet. Yesterday was busy and wonderful. Shelly had visitors, Sarah and her young son, Parker. Sarah works with Shelly at "Fashions by Gary" a premier maker of jewelry in Rhode Island. It's been a while since we had toddlers running around the house. Shelly and we loved the visit.

We're going to get some pictures for the blog. Lots of fun posing for them.

We are hoping that the hospital is making progress on the gamma knife and it would be a real lift if we were to hear from them tomorrow.

Good morning Shelly and anyone else who happens to read this,

Shelly. I loved the picture of you that appeared on this blog for about an hour yesterday! I miss seeing it. I wrote to your dad to ask about it when it disappeared; he said you didn't like it so he took it down. So strange how we see ourselves. You looked beautiful to me. Oh well. I can't wait to see the pictures from yesterday -if your unnamed sister agrees to having them posted that is.

Frigid temperatures are promised for later so I'll do my errands this morning and then I'll close my front door and stay put. I'm glad to know that you are in a cozy house filled with warmth, children (and dogs) and lots of love.

I'm hoping to hear soon that you have had this now famous "gamma knife" procedure (sounds like something from a science fiction novel) and that it is not too intolerable. Oh Shelly. And remember that you and I agree that you (and I) are our own bosses. Do it all your way and though I certainly hope you keep that beautiful smile on your face, I love you even with a frown.

I'm glued to the TV watching primary and caucus results - a great way to avoid the piles of work I should be doing but very interesting. I am cheering Barak Obama on. Marge was upset to hear this when she and I talked since she said she is supporting Hillary Clinton. Hum. I think a revolution is taking place in the Democratic Party and for me at least it is exciting and very inspiring.

I forwarded the news of this blog to Marc who is away this weekend (skiing in Tahoe no less). I'm sure you'll hear from him soon.

I hope I'm not writing too much. Sending you hugs, laughter and much love. Alice

Hi Alice,

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts.

I'm doing things differently this time. I'm surrounding myself with friends, family and all the humor I can and to keep focused on the positive, which doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the seriousness of my situation. But I will control those things I can control, my attitude, my outlook, appreciation for the moment, like my nephews' laughter and Oliver's licks.

And I'm feeling pretty good today which is a good thing.

Love,

Shelly

I'm SO happy to hear from you!! You are incredible Shelly. Laughter, love and licks. We'll call this the 3 L's. Sounds good to me. So Shelly, with Valentine's Day coming up (and no one local for me to shower with attention!) I'd like to make something for you. Do you like lemon squares? (Notice the L.) Seriously, can I make some and mail them to you? Or some other good-tasting something? The bakery downstairs is open and it would be fun. You name it - I'll make it.

My daughter and I had a very nice visit with the Waxmans last night. It was so wonderful hearing the stories of all the support people have shown for Shelly and her family. It is comforting to know that Shelly is surrounded by loving and caring family, friends and co-workers.

Shelly ~ You look beautiful and you have a wonderful and positive outlook. Be strong and know all the love you have in your life.

Mollyana misses Oliver's kisses. : )

Love,
Bambi
