7 am
Yesterday was a comfortable day. Shelly continues to feel comfortable for which we are grateful. The blog comments and emails continue to provide pleasant and much appreciated moments for her and we thank you for them. She had a great visit with Pam who, as always, brought sunshine right into the room.
Tomorrow Shelly will undergo gamma knife radiation to destroy the brain lesions and we will be at the hospital at 6 am. She is not looking forward to the 'halo' being screwed into her skull again but she is nevertheless looking forward to putting this step on her journey behind her.
What does one do to prepare for this, you ask? Why, one gets a manicure and pedicure, of course.
Her toes have never looked so elegant, if I may say so myself. Today she will indulge in a massage which will be a new experience for her and one which I think she will happy to repeat in the future.
By tomorrow afternoon the tumors in the brain will be gone and we can take a breather for a week as we wait to start the next phase - chemotherapy.

Thank you for your updates about Shelly. More than you might realize, being at a distance is difficult and having news without having to call every five minutes is a good thing for all of us! :)
Shelly, I highly recommend massages. One of the best ways of taking care of yourself. Really, a wonderful feel-good and good-for-you experience. Enjoy every bit of it.
I've made the new lemon squares (without knife tips) and if the rain and sleet and ice let me, I'll mail them later today before I leave for my evening class.
I will be thinking of you tomorrow and like your Dad said, I can't wait until this step is behind you.
Lots of love, Alice
